Marco Gobbi (b. 1985, IT) studied Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice and since 2008 has been working with sculpture and installation. In 2013 he was a resident at the Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa with the collective ‘How We Dwell (Make your own Residency)’. In 2015/16 he was a resident at Van Eyck Academie, Maastricht.
His practice evinces his interest in the analysis of stories and objects, and the gaps found in those stories; the work, then, is used as a mean to fill those gaps. Through the uncovering of the balance between the components of an artwork, a more subjective vision of translation and sensation in poetic forms is proposed. The artist sees objects as potential maps, whose legends contain new and unexplored directions and possibilities.
